Family Pictures
YAY!!! We finally got our family pictures taken and the weather held up just for us...well, not really. It was still pretty cold but at least it wasn't snowing! I think we got some good shots in so we'll have to see when we get them back...don't worry, I will definitely post some of the pictures on here!

Ahh...The Joys of Idaho Weather
So...it has officially snowed! Last Wednesday there was a little flurries in the morning but nothing stuck. But, this morning we woke up to about an inch of snow and poor Brandon had to clean off the car in order to go to school. :( Then it continued to snow until like 2 in the afternoon. I think our family pictures are going to have to be in the snow...yuck!

News about us...
So...I have decided to take over the blog from Brandon because he has too much work to do with school and all he would write about his computer stuff...and who cares about computer stuff (besides other computer people)? So yeah...hopefully I will do a little better keeping up with new posts and everything so you all will know everything that is going on with our lives.
First up...I hate Idaho weather!!! :) I just can't say it enough! This last Friday, we were planning on having our family pictures done outside (because it's much prettier than inside), but on Wednesday the temperature decided to drop like 20 degrees! We still tried though, but after like 30 minutes David was freezing and not happy so we decided to call it a day and rescheduled for this Tuesday...we'll see. I think family pictures are important because it shows a record of that time in our lives. Besides, we have all these pictures of David and barely any of Brandon and I, so I'm sure people are going to wonder whose child he really is!
Now news of David...he isn't rolling over just yet but I'm sure it will be soon. He's got everything down, he just needs that extra little inch to push himself over. He is still talking and he laughs a lot more now. He's definitely a Mamma's boy, which I absolutely love!! But he loves when Daddy plays with him too!
Well, about us...Brandon is in school and doing awesome! He just got a 95 and 97 on two tests...he really thinks he can do really well this semester, so I'm holding him to it. I don't do much...just take care 0f David and clean the house, and when David is sleeping, I read books. I really love being a mom!!

OO at the OS level
Object-oriented programming is all the rage these days, but we are still stuck with a procedural way of interacting with the operating system. Why? First of all what is the difference between OOP and procedural? Procedural defines an algorithm that data will follow. If the data does not work for that algorithm, the algorithm needs to be changed. OOP on the other hand defines code and data together. The algorithm is designed to go with the data, and a nice neat package is presented to manipulate. So how are we interacting with an operating system in a procedural way and how could it be object oriented? Well currently we have jpegs, mp3s, docs, and txts that all need a specific program to deal with them. Oh, what you don't have a pdf viewer? You can't open that pdf. Too bad, so sad. What I propose is to have the methods for dealing with data embeded in the files. What you want to work with that type of data? Call the 'open' command for it. Edit, well call the edit command. (Now of course these would be menues or work by clicking.) Ok problems with this idea...
Security, security, security... Who decides what code goes with what data? How do I know a pdf is not installing a trojan? Well, I suppose we can put limits on what an open command does. Shouldn't do much more than load to memory. Anything more than that and it gets the ax. We can also incorporate digital signatures to make sure the Adobe format was infact created by Adobe.
Then there is multiple copies of code... First idea is who cares? I have terabytes of storage, but yeah, no good. This one will need a trick to work.

New apt and lost stuff
Today marks the second day of searching for a white board we purchased on Wednesday. We bought it, (along with a few other things) came home and watched a movie then went to bed. Yesterday, after I got home from work, I wanted to put it up, but couldn't find it! We have looked everywhere! It cannot be found. I kind of remember placing it behind a door or something to protect it, but I have no idea... oh well, maybe we left it at walmart
