This Past Week.

On December 16th, I decided to suck it up and go to the dentist because I was feeling a lot of pain in my mouth for about 3 months. I had put it off for so long because I knew it would be something big and would cost a lot of money, and I really didn't want to hear it. But then the pain got worse, so I decided to go because I didn't want to be in pain over the Christmas break when we were with family. Well...bad news indeed. My wisdom teeth were causing an infection in my mouth, and the dentist basically said they needed to come out now. But were were leaving in like 3 days, so he gave me some antibiotics and set me up for an appointment when we came back.

We flew home and had a wonderful time with our families, and I completely forgot that I had to get this done when we came back. Well, the date got closer and I got more nervous because I've never gone under sedation before, so I didn't really know what to expect. It also didn't help that Brandon was making comments like, "Do you have anything you would like me to tell your parents if you don't make it?" Yeah, that's my loving husband! So, we get there and they take me back, get me all comfortable in the chair, give me the sedative, turn off the lights, and then wait. I wait and wait and wait but nothing happens. I don't get sleepy or go to that twilight zone or anything!
The dentist comes in and checks on my a couple of times and then decides to get to work...but I was fully awake and conscious! They numbed me up pretty good but I was still aware of everything they were doing. I could feel my teeth moving and jiggling around. I could feel and hear the drill against my teeth. It was not pretty and it was not fun! Brandon even got a little freaked out when I came out and my lips were all bloody. They gave me a prescription for some pain medication and then sent me home. Brandon put me to bed and then went to go get my medicine. I took it and a few hours later was throwing up blood (since I didn't have anything in my stomach). Thankfully my husband is wonderful (even with all of his jokes) and cleaned up the mess even though I know he doesn't do blood or throw up! He even did a wonderful job of taking care of David.

I threw up about 3 times before realizing it was the pain medication doing it to me, so I stopped taking it. Thankfully, I was going back to the dentist the next day for a check up and they were able to fix it. He told me that they had to cut away some bone to get to my lower wisdom teeth, so that is why I am so sore and swollen (and we can't forget hungry since I still can't really eat anything solid). My jaw is so sore from keeping my mouth open for so long (3 hours), and both of my classes are music classes requiring me to sing or play instruments. Basically, I am in a lot of pain...which I'm sure everyone who has had their wisdom teeth taken out will know. Sadly, all I want is a
big delicious cheeseburger!!

Need Help!

So I forgot to mention this in the last blog...I'm getting bored with our blog. I want to spiff it up a little bit...make it cooler looking, but I have absolutely no idea how. Any suggestions?

Updates.

We took our camera home for Christmas, you know to get pictures of David with all of his family and everything, but sadly when we got there we couldn't find it! We thought we might have left it at my sister's apartment before we left since we had to stay there a couple of days but no...as we were packing to head back out to Idaho, low and behold, the camera was hidden underneath of the suitcases. I could have sworn we looked there but apparently not. So we didn't get any pictures while we were home...so sad, huh? Our family did, however, take some pictures so hopefully we will get some of those. I'm totally bummed out about it because this was the first time everyone got to see David and who knows when we'll be able to go home again. It stinks but that's the way it goes.

Brandon and I started school on Tuesday. Brandon has 15 credits and I have...4! I know 4 credits doesn't seem like all the much but it's difficult when you're working around your baby's schedule. David is teething...so most of the time he doesn't want to be put down or away from his mommy. Brandon will even take him and he will still cry. I love being a mother, but come on...sometimes I need a break too! So 4 credits is just about right for me...and I love my classes! They are both about music and I LOVE music...hopefully, I will be able to teach David to appreciate it as well.

On another sad note...our good friends, Molly and Brandon, have left us this semester to live in Maryland...totally jealous! I mean, I'm happy for them and everything but now who are we going to play games with?! I guess we're just going to have to make new friends...we do miss you guys though...and David does too!! :)

Wonderful Home!

So, I have to say that the reason I haven't been keeping up with this blog is because I broke my computer. :( So very sad...so now I have to wait until I get a computer. But, our wonderful friends, Brandon and Molly have let us borrow their computer until they get back to Idaho (they get to stay in Maryland for a semester...lucky!) so we won't have to buy another computer for a little while...phew!

But now I have to tell you about our wonderful holidays! We were supposed to fly out to Maryland on the 19th this month but because Maryland decided to have a huge blizzard that day (what's up with that? Maryland barely ever gets snow!!) our flight was canceled and we had to wait until Monday the 21st to fly out. Luckily, our wonderful brother-in-law was still home and let us stay with him until we could leave. So, we flew home...David was absolutely wonderful on the plane, and we are probably jinxing him for the flight back, but he was wonderful! We had a wonderful Christmas with all of our family members and they absolutely LOVE David...but then again who couldn't?! lol We're bias! Now, we think he might be teething...we are most definitely going to miss his toothless smile, so he's not too happy right now. Plus, he fell off of a bed last night so he's got a bump on his head. That scared me to death...I took him upstairs to put him down for a nap and when he fell asleep, I piled pillows all around him stupidly thinking he would be okay...then I went back downstairs with my family. About 10 minutes later we hear a big crashing noise from upstairs, Brandon was the first one upstairs and sure enough David was on the floor screaming! He had the biggest red bump on his head, but after we calmed him down he seemed to be okay. It still made me feel terrible...but then my mom told me stories about all of us hitting our heads and Brandon's mom told me about all of her kids hitting their heads and so I decided that it was just something little kids just have to do. They have to scare their parents some how!

So that has been our eventful holiday...we are still waiting to see what will happen on New Year's Eve and Day! Oh, and there has been a lot more things happening but I really don't want to be here all night! Maybe I'll write a little more later...

So Tired!

Lately, David had been doing a wonderful job of sleeping through the night. He woke up periodically, but all I had to do was put the pacifier back into his mouth and he would go right back to sleep. It was wonderful! But I guess I was bragging a little too much about it because now he refuses to go to sleep even though he so totally tired. He fuses and cries, and he can't get comfortable in our arms but absolutely hates to be put down. I know I should just let him cry himself to sleep...but that boy can cry! I have yet to see him cry himself to sleep. There was one night he cried for about 45 minutes and he sounded like he could have gone on a whole lot longer. And last night, he woke up like 4 times. Of course, Brandon doesn't hear him crying so I'm the one who has to comfort him. So I'm pretty tired today...and I get cranky when I'm tired...ask Brandon. I just wish I knew what to do for him...what he wanted...so we both could get the sleep we need (although David gets to take naps during the day...while I have things to do). I don't know what to do!

And it's snowing today...of course. I'm actually kind of excited to have our first real big snow storm just because we are in a new place. However, we still have yet to get Brandon new tires for his car...and his car is the only one he can take on campus because it's the only one that has a permit. So now I'm going to worry about him driving...I hate worrying because my mind decides to think up the worst case scenarios. But like all couples starting a family, we don't have the money to get him new ones. I am slightly comforted to know that Brandon is a good driver...a confident driver who doesn't really care that it's snowing (I start freaking out if it's flurrying), but what about all those other people on the road who aren't such good drivers? Oh, I just pray that he will be okay.
