Little Miracles from Heaven

I know I already did a post today, but since I feel like this is some kind of journal for me I decided that posting twice wouldn't be that bad...and this is something I really want to remember (though I doubt I will be forgetting it).

Parenthood is hard. I knew it would be hard before I got pregnant with David but no one could ever really tell you EXACTLY how hard it really is. Especially from a religious stand point...you're trying to keep yourself worthy to enter the Celestial Kingdom and now you are also responsible for teaching your children what is right. I don't know about all you other mothers out there, but I find this very hard. Granted, Heavenly Father is always there to help you along, but when your two year old is once again getting into something he knows he shouldn't be touching because we have told him that a million times, it's hard to keep that in mind.

Well, when Jacob came along everything just got ten times harder. I have a very difficult time listening to babies cry, but when I also have to take care of his older brother, I've learned to tune Jacob out for just a little while so I can handle David without getting too frustrated (although I still do occasionally). It's been a difficult month and a half since adding Jacob to our family. Jacob has gotten thrush and a cold right on top of each other, so he has become a very cranky baby who cries more often than not.

Well about a week after I brought Jacob home from the hospital and we were still working on adjusting, there were many many times I thought to myself that two kids were fine with me. Then suddenly, there were times when I would look at Jacob and for a split second I would think he was a girl. And it was such a powerful thought that I would consciously have to remind myself that he was a boy...this happened so many times that I started to lose count. So apparently we have a little girl up there who is waiting to come down, and she doesn't want us to forget her. Ever since then I have started thinking that three kids is good enough for me. ***Let me just say that I am NOT thinking about having another child any time soon...I am NOT pregnant, nor do I want to become pregnant any time soon*** But I KNOW this little girl wants to be in our family, so I've been causally throwing out names that I like. I know the middle name is going to be Lind because it's my Grandmother's maiden name and my middle name and it would die with me if I didn't pass it along...so I am. I have found many girls names that I like...Avery and Emma were just two names I was considering. However, they just never felt right. Then yesterday I was blog hopping (you know when you go to your friends blog and then click on one of their friends and then one of their friends and so on) and came across the name Sadie. Instantly loved it, so I put it with Lind- Sadie Lind Lyons- and I loved it more and even got a little tearful. So I have come to the conclusion that we are going to have a girl and her name is going to be Sadie Lind Lyons.

I don't know about you, but I think that is rather cool!

So Ready for Spring

As the title says, I am SO ready for Spring (and Summer) to show their faces here in Rexburg.

Reason #1- David is going absolutely crazy at staying inside...he is an outside boy at heart. He just gets into EVERYTHING and then throws them around. And the boy is so stinking smart, he gets into the most stuff (or things he KNOWS he's not supposed to touch) when I'm feeding Jacob and can't really get up to take away what he has. We have tried spanking and time out and nothing works. So my question to all those who are reading this...how do you discipline your children? What have you found that works the best with your kids? I'm ready to try anything because I feel like the spanking is starting to borderline abuse!

Reason #2- Warm weather to get rid of all this snow! I want to go on walks and take my kids to the park and not have to bundle them up like a snowman each time we go! I also want to stay outside longer than 10 minutes! I like the sunshine too...even though I burn instead of tan.

Reason #3- I am so sick of the running noses, colds, coughs, and all the other illnesses that come with winter. Both David and Jacob have colds and coughs that keep them up or wake them up in the middle of the night...I'm soo ready to get more sleep!

So basically, December can't come fast enough...I know what you're thinking, "she just said she wanted Summer, why does she want December to come?" I'll tell you why. Brandon is graduating and we will be moving away from this place! We have loved our stay here, especially all the friends we have made, but I just can't handle this weather any more! I want to go someplace (Maryland) where winter is the normal 3 months out of the year, not 8!

Enough Said

This boy might push my buttons every second of every day but...

He sure gets away with a lot when I see this face!

Bad parenting, I know, but I just can't help it!
He's just too darn cute!!
Don't you agree?

Bathroom fun

So we recently got those bathroom letters and numbers to help David learn them, and Brandon and I discovered that we can have fun with them too. Well, I decided to be sweet one day and this is the message I left him in the shower...

*Please bare in mind that David has already lost a few important letters so we have to make due with what we have.

This is my wonderful husband's sense of humor and the message I got from him...

Oh how I love that man! :)

Getting older...

Baby Jacob turned 1 month old on February 23!
He now weighs 10 lb 8 oz and is 21 inches long...more chub than stretch! :)

I can't wait until he gets older... I'm not one for the newborn stage, never really have been. I like toddlers and their ability to communicate... He's slowly getting there!!!
