Too Scary

Out here in the little town of Sherwood, they do not have a Walmart! Can you believe that?! I couldn't...anyways, they have a place called Fred Meyer. Brandon and I are from the east so neither one of use new what this place was about, so one day we decided to check it out. It's basically like a Walmart. So we are browsing around when we see the Halloween section. We hadn't decided what we wanted David to be for Halloween yet so we decided to head over there and look at some costumes. Well, they had this huge blow up black cat and spider hanging from the ceiling and just recently David has developed a great love for cats. We thought he would love to see this big cat hanging down from the ceiling...boy were we wrong! He wanted absolutely nothing to do with this thing. He wrapped both arms around Brandon's neck and hung on for deal life, and whenever Brandon tried to turn him so he could see he started fussing and crying. Well, a couple of days later I had to get some supplies from there so we went back. As soon as David saw those things from a distance he started to freak out. He literally tried to climb out of the cart and into my arms! So we have decided, sadly, that there will be no Halloween for us this year. Our ward is doing a tri-trunk-or-treat with the other two wards that are in our building. They are doing contests to see who can decorate their trunk the best so we figured someone is going to do something scary. We don't want to scare the boy even more than he already is so no fun for us. I'm going to miss all that free candy though...and seeing how cute and adorable David would be in a costume. :( I still would like to carve pumpkins though.
