Time is Flying By

This little stud muffin is already 6 months old! Where has the time gone?!
He is just getting cuter and cuter!
Sorry it's a little blurry, I took it with my phone and he was in mid roll...
I just can't get enough of his face though, love it!!

He has finally learned how to roll both ways and was rolling around the house for about a week and then decided that wasn't good enough, so now the boy is up on his hands and knees rocking back and forth.
It won't be long before this little guy is off chasing David!
He is eating like a pro now too...for a while we couldn't get him to touch any cereal or baby food. Now he gobbles it all down...I still have to mix the fruit in with the cereal to get him to eat it (crazy kid is a veggie lover I guess).
On a side note- David has taken to eating baby food veggies.
Can't get him to touch real ones but with these he asks for more...at least he's getting it from somewhere, right?!
This picture was taken after he licked the bowl clean and started licking his tray! lol

My boys are growing up too fast!
I told Brandon today that Jacob could be walking in the next 3 months (if he keeps going the way he is). 3 months! That's nothing!
David is now able to get himself dressed (still with a little help, but not much) and can put his shoes on!
Pretty soon they will be going on missions, then college and marriage, and then having babies of their own!
TIME SLOW DOWN!!

The BEST Recipe Ever!!!

I have to stress the BEST in the title...this seriously is an amazing meal, and we have the wonderful Herd's to thank for introducing us to it!! It's soo good I just had to share it with everyone (well, everyone that reads my blog, haha)! I'm going to give you all the original recipe but it calls for a lot of pork, so I just normally get about a 2 lb pork roast and half the recipe. Well, I'll get right to it!

Sweet Pork Tacos with Cilantro Lime Slaw

Roasted Sweet Pork
  • 6 lbs pork butt/shoulder roast
  • 1 19 oz. can Red enchilada sauce
  • 1 can Dr. Pepper (20 oz.)
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 clove garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. fresh cilantro, chopped
Combine all ingredients into your crockpot and cook on low overnight or until meat is tender. (If you are using a 2 lb roast, about 8 hours should do it instead of overnight). Whoops, forgot to mention that you need to shred the roast up once it's done...

Cilantro Lime Slaw
  • 1 pkg. Cole slaw or whole shredded cabbage (I actually used a broccoli slaw package)
  • 1 c. mayo
  • 1 c. cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper or a dash of your favorite hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 T. lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
Combine all but slaw in a mini food processor or chop and combine yourself. Mix desired amount of dressing with slaw mix no more than 30 minutes before serving.

Put meat on top of a tortilla (we used corn tortillas, warmed in the microwave...but I'm sure flour tortillas would work too), and then the slaw on top of that. Fold in half and enjoy!

Super easy and a super delicious meal!

5 Months

I can't believe my little baby is now 5 months old!! Time is really flying by, and he is just as adorable as ever! He has now learned to roll from his stomach to back, and he does it constantly. The funny thing is is he can't stand being on his stomach...so he'll roll over and then start screaming because he can't roll back over, so we'll roll him to his back and within seconds he's back onto his belly! We are all enjoying every second with this little man though...even David! Last night David began playing Peek-a-boo with him and Jacob absolutely loved it! I wish I had thought to get it on video, but I was just enjoying the moment!

He's such a little cutie! How have I gotten so lucky to have 2 cute kids? But I am bias...

Blessing Day

Today was Jacob's blessing...well, it was supposed to be!

All of the Bishopric secretaries and ward clerks were out today, so the bishop and his counselors forgot!!! We were sitting in sacrament meeting all ready to get up and he just goes on to the blessing of the sacrament! haha We went up and talked to him afterwards and he was so embarrassed and apologetic. :) We told him it really wasn't a problem because we were considering doing it at our home anyways (Jacob is 4 months old and big for his age, so Brandon said it would look funny since it looks like he should be walking...he exaggerated, Jacob's not THAT big!) But we didn't clean our apartment like I wanted, and I wasn't going to have a baby blessing in our messy apartment, so we just decided to do it after church.

Well, Jacob then proceeded to throw up all over himself during the rest of church...I think I counted 4 times! And then when we were waiting for a room to open up, Jacob's diaper leaked all over his pants. So he was blessed pants-less! haha Brandon did such a wonderful job though! I'm so proud of him, being only a member of this church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) for almost 5 years now, he sounded like a real pro. The blessing was to the point, spiritual, and beautiful!

Sorry there aren't any pictures...like I said Jacob pretty much ruined his outfit, and David had a MAJOR break down when we got home...and I mean MAJOR! He didn't get a nap today, so he was absolutely exhausted and fell asleep on the floor at the foot of his bed!

All-in-all it was a wonderful day though!

Crazy Dreams

Dreams, oh lovely dreams. Ever wonder what exactly these weird, wacky, and strange dreams mean? I have. I think I've figured out one of the reoccurring dreams...manly because when I'm pregnant it turns into the exact opposite. In these dreams, I'm always being chased by someone or something, and most of the time I can't run on two feet so I end of getting down on all fours and run doggy-style! Weird, I know. Well, when I'm pregnant these people or things will start to chase me and I'll run for a little bit but then get fed up with it and will turn and confront whoever is chasing me and DEMAND that they stop. Funny...Brandon certainly thought so when I told him about it the next morning. I'm thinking that these dreams go with my fear of confrontation. I hate getting into arguments with people, and most times when Brandon and I get into disagreements I end up walking away. I have a very hard time expressing to him my true feelings about something when I know it will cause a problem. But that all changes when I'm pregnant...my guess, it's the hormones. So I'm guessing that is just reflecting into my dreams. Not quite sure how the running on all fours comes in though...

Let's see...another weird dream I have is I'm chewing gum and I go to spit it out however I can't get it all out of my mouth, and I end up pulling this never-ending strand of gum out of my teeth. I don't like when I have that one...needless to say, I don't really like chewing gum anymore. I'm not quite sure the meaning of that one.

And now my most recent dreams, that has been slightly freaking me out...tornados! I dream that I'm back home with my parents, with my kids (strangely Brandon is absent) and there are tornados just ransacking my whole home town. I was ok with those dreams until they started coming true. Like a couple weeks ago, my home area had a couple tornado warnings and even a couple of sightings where a tornado actually touched down. Scary. Well, last night it was still a tornado dream however it was right here is Rexburg with my family and all my friends' families. Apparently, I had some strange sense that a tornado was going to come and I was running around to all my friends apartments telling the to find a basement (we all live on the top floor) and they didn't believe me! I think this one was brought on by all the wind we had last night. Anyways, still strange, and I would really like to know why it's always tornados. Any suggestions?

What are some crazy dreams that you have?
